Distinction: 1st National Painting Prize

This painting depicts the Kosovo Field, where Albanians wearing their traditional white felt hats (plis) are seated cross-legged on the ground. The composition is dominated by a vast sky that occupies nearly four-fifths of the canvas, creating a sense of openness and timelessness.

The red earth, in strong contrast with the white plis, carries a symbolic meaning of sacrifice, memory, and continuity. This visual opposition emphasizes the deep roots and the autochthonous presence of Albanians on these lands.

Awarded the 1st Prize in National Art and part of the Albanian National Art Gallery collection, the work conveys a powerful cultural statement. The light emerging on the horizon symbolizes the future, hope, and the closeness of aspirations for independence and self-determination.
